I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit...
Church History

The church was established in Glenpool, Oklahoma during the depression (1935). Pastor Mark Baughman (1912 - 2002) and his wife, Zealous Powell Baughman (1913 - 2002), started the work. Five lots at 88 Main Street was given to the struggling congregation by Al Woods. Pastor Baughman then went to the bank and borrowed $250 of which he took $150 and bought a four room house located in an oil field. He and the men of the church pulled the house to the church's present location using a team of horses and block and tackle. The church was built as the city began to grow. Pastor Mark Baughman pastored the Glenpool church from 1935 until 1941.

From the time that Pastor Baughman came to Glenpool his brother-in-law, Virgil Powell (1910 - 1970), and sister Mildred Baughman Powell (1910 - 1950), were there to help. At the time, Brother Baughman was trying to evangelize and pastor. When Brother Baughman was away preaching at various churches, Brother and Sister Powell pastored the church. Brother and Sister Baughman left Glenpool to attend Bible School from 1941 - 1942, and Brother Powell became the sole Pastor from 1941 - 1945.

Pastor William R. Owen and his wife, Della Middleton Owen, arrived at the Glenpool church in 1945. They sacrificed and built the first permanent building out of cement blocks. Pastor Owen was a carpenter by trade, and made his living by remodeling older houses. Everything they had above living expenses went into the church due to their deep desire to establish a thriving work in Glenpool. They purchased the blocks, sometimes only a few at a time, until the first permanent building was built in 1951.

Michael Hamilton was the next pastor from 1980 - 1982, followed by Tommy White, Sr. from 1982 - 1984. John Woods assumed pastorship in 1984 and held the church until 1989, when our present Pastor Gary Stanley, Sr. arrived.
